The Madness AQHA and NSBA show saw Non-Pro exhibitors earning some big checks in the NSBA Three Year Old Non-Pro Western Pleasure, which also had a Limited Non-Pro Super Sires division that showed simultaneously. The final futurity class kicked off the Western Pleasure classes on Sunday which followed Western Riding and Horsemanship on the final day's show schedule.
Mallory Vroegh showed Socks For Dayz, who had just come off of a tie in the Maiden Two Year Old Open Western Pleasure Slot Class the day before with Gil Galyean in the saddle, to win the Three Year Old Non-Pro Western Pleasure. They earned $907.80 for the win. The duo celebrated the win with Socks’ breeders, Dax and Laura Atkinson, who are pictured with her. Socks is by The Lopin Machine.
“He was awesome,” Mallory said. “We’ve just had him since March To The Artch, and he just wants to be a show horse. He was really consistent, and one of the more fun horses that I have got to show. His ears are always up and he loves his job!”
Mallory will continue to show Socks in the Non-Pro Three Year Old Western Pleasure futurities this year.
In the Super Sires division of the class, Linda Berwick also showed a filly by The Lopin Machine, named Deja Whoo, to win a check for $2,268.
“We raised her, and we’ve loved her from the time she was born. We had big plans for her from the beginning,” Linda said.
“We knew that we would send her to Charles and Angie (Cannizzaro) and that she would hopefully excel just by the way she moved in the pasture, and her great disposition. She reminds me a lot of her mother, Whos Cheating Who. I was a little nervous, because this was my first time to show her, but she has such great rhythm and she is so pretty that you have to be confident showing her.”
Angie Cannizzaro will continue to show the mare in Open Three Year Old and Novice Horse events and Linda will show her in Non-Pro futurities.
