The Madness AQHA and NSBA circuit is well underway at the World Equestrian Center in Wilmington, Ohio. With record-breaking entries showing to the judges between the Pre-Madness over the weekend and The Madness classes beginning on Tuesday, horses and exhibitors as well as show management have been keeping busy.

Sponsored annually by the Southern Ohio Quarter Horse Association, The Madness was happy to return to its May dates after being delayed last spring by COVID-19. The 2020 show was held in July.

Reliable Remington Wins Non-Pro Hunter Under Saddle

Haley Hartman showed her eight year old gelding, Al Fool Ya, known as Remington, to win the NSBA All Age Non-Pro Hunter Under Saddle. The duo showed to two firsts and a second on the cards of Terry Cross, Michael Edwards and Holly Hover.

“He felt really good out there today,” Haley said. “He is so fun to show. He knows the minute he goes into the show pen, because his ears go up and he brings himself up and just shows.”

Haley has had the gelding for five years and shows under the guidance of Dawn Baker. “I feel like by now we really know each other,” she said. “He’s at a fun age and is just so dependable.”

The reserve champions in the class were Willy Has Potential and Michelle Bauer, with third place going to Im Willy Good Today and Erin Shapiro Boatwright.
