The National Snaffle Bit Association Foundation held a social and community gathering during the annual Silver Dollar Circuit being held in Las Vegas, announced today that nearly $7,000.00 was raised in support of the NSBA Crisis Fund, during the Cocktails & Conversations for A Cause event.
Sponsored as a special project of the NSBA Foundation, the social featured crafted martini’s for tasting and hors’deouvrs. Financial support was provided by 5 M Ranch and The Way to Go magazine.
Industry professionals and past recipients of Crisis Funds, Gary Roberts, David Busick, Karen Graham and Jenn & Justin Wheeler all shared stories of situations where hardship was thrust upon their business, their family and their clients. Iterations of “You don’t know you need it, until you do” were echoed by all.
Established to help fellow professionals, the NSBA Crisis Fund is part of the longstanding support the National Snaffle Bit Association offers its professional members.
Distributions from the NSBA Crisis Fund are based on proven financial need, arising from sudden demonstrable hardship or disaster of a severe and unexpected nature, or from serious physical illness. The Crisis Fund may provide information, resources, potential financial support and local contacts that may assist a trainer and their family to rebuild their business and meet current and on-going needs.
Silver Dollar Circuit principle, Jan Bruner, commented, “Having an opportunity to be included in the work of the NSBA Foundation is a great way for us to highlight our gratitude to the professionals of the NSBA and the entire horse community.”
She went on to say “It also gives us an opportunity to support and recognize the commitment of these professional trainers to their horses, their clients and our industry.”
NSBA is proud to work with show mangers or partner in promoting the work of the NSBA Foundation. Fostering relations with our owners, riders and professionals is key to maintaining a healthy community. This relationship heightens the awareness of the importance of giving to the communities in which we live & work,” NSBA Executive Director, Stephanie Lynn remarked.
