Ranch Breeders Championship Futurity
How It Works
The Ranch Breeders Championship Futurity is designed to appeal to all horse breeders, owners, trainers, and exhibitors, offering a full slate of Ranch classes and lucrative paybacks. This event will be held each year in conjunction with the NSBA World Championship Show, Breeders Championship Futurity, and Color Breeders Championship Futurity.
The Purse
The purse is funded by stallion nomination fees and horse enrollment fees collected for each foaling year. The purse will follow each year’s foal crop as it progresses through the program annually.
Payouts
Stallion owners, horse nominators, and current horse owners will all continue to benefit from the earnings throughout the horse’s show career. Each dollar the horse earns at the Ranch Breeders Championship Futurity will be paid out among the parties as listed below.
Stallion Nominator | 20% per dollar earned |
Horse Nominator | 10% per dollar earned |
Current Horse Owner | 70% per dollar earned |
Eligibility
To be eligible to participate in the Ranch Breeders Championship Futurity program, the horse’s sire must be nominated to the Ranch BCF program for the offspring’s yearling year. Eligible horses born in 2023 or later can be enrolled at any time beginning as yearlings through their three-year-old year.
Stallion Nominations
Stallion owners must be current NSBA members, and pay an annual $500 fee by May 15 to nominate their stallion. The year in which a stallion is paid into the Ranch BCF will make foals born the prior year eligible for enrollment. After May 15, nominations increase to $800 and can be paid at any time to make any foal crop eligible.
Before May 15 | After May 15 | |
---|---|---|
Foal Year | $500 | $800 |
Horse Enrollment
Horses can be enrolled online or by mail. Enrollments must be submitted with payment and a copy of the horse’s breed registration papers showing current ownership. Once an enrollment form has been received and validated, a digital NSBA Certificate of Registration will be emailed to the current owner.
Enrollments (2025 only) | Before May 15 | After May 15 |
---|---|---|
2024 Foals | $200 | $500 |
